Today, September 24, 2025, Universal Pictures released the final trailer for Wicked: For Good.
The preview intensifies the clash between Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande), showcasing moments of magical duels, including the iconic image of Elphaba’s broom against Glinda’s wand, along with tension-filled dialogue. Glinda, now a prominent public figure in Oz, appears torn between political duty and past loyalties.
The trailer also features snippets of iconic songs such as “No Good Deed,” “Thank Goodness,” and “For Good,” setting the emotional tone of the story. Legendary characters from The Wizard of Oz are highlighted as well: Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, who confront the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum), demanding proof of the Witch’s downfall.
Another visually striking moment is the presence of a controllable tornado, possibly manipulated by Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh), suggesting that devastation in Oz will play a central role in the narrative.
The trailer also hints at a greater role for Dorothy in this sequel, something already noted as a new element compared to the original musical.
Wicked: For Good arrives in cinemas on November 21, 2025, over the world, in IMAX, 3D, and other premium formats.
The reaction to the trailer was immediate: fans flooded social media with theories about the final battle, Dorothy’s role, and the emotional impact of key songs. Some are even predicting major awards recognition for Cynthia Erivo, particularly for her powerful performance of “No Good Deed.”
